That's a very dangerous type of hacking - if a name server is compromised, then a huge number of users can be sent to malicious
websites that they did not select, which could be, for example, login screens for bank accounts, etc.  You could carefully put the
correct url for your bank, and be misdirected by a compromised name server to a phony login that records and steals your user name
and password.

Secure login helps.  They may get you to go their bogus login page, but they probably can't get the little lock to close.

Usually the attacks on name servers are denial of service attacks that just screw things up.  But sometimes they are more insideous.
