I have a converted BC1G on 75 meters...See ER this month. Man let me
tell you from also an X Broadcasters point of View it is a ball to run.
Nice thing about the GATES that the Collins and RCA do not have is that
you can get about 130% positive peaks with no problem at all... You
remember in broadcast loudest station on the dial LOL They were all
Gates HI !!!

Subject: [AMRadio] Finaly got the "Dream Rig"

Hello All,

Being an Ex-announcer, and Broadcast Engineer, I’ve always wanted a
commercial rig here at the home QTH for “proper” AM communication
On 160M. Well, I finally did it! Just bought a nice Gates BC-1H
transmitter
for conversion to 1885, AM, 160M use!

I’m SO looking forward to getting it home, getting it fixed up, and On
The
Air!

Anyone w/ Hints and Kinks about this Xmitter
.. Get in touch!

Mike
