[AMRadio] band plan

HI guys, when I got started the locals were 160 daytime also.  I ran a 6CL6 Carter modulation in the mobile and had a ball. Ran off of the tube BC radio supply, Vibrator no less.  The band is a sweet heart for local chat.

Joe, N3IBX and I used to do 160M in the middle of the day all summer long.
DX-100 is what the both of used. Signals were not strapping but the noise
floor was extremely low and the audio would be "full quieting" by FM
standards. Once we had a QSO where he used a Globe Chief. I think he said he
was running about 15 watts to the wire. We are precisely 100 air miles
apart. So you can use that as a yardstick.

Don et al

I am hoping I can interest the guys with FL AM Group to start up a 160m AM
round table on a regular basis. For me that's real ham radio. Daytime 160m
AM. Why not!
