Lots of similarity between circuits in the Valiant and Ranger. I have both and a spare parts Ranger. Have you checked to see if you could use a Ranger switch or part of the switch in the Valiant?  I'll check out the band switch, imagine its the same in both rigs. If so, I'll get back to you.

I am still in need of a Valiant  front  bandswitch  wafer in good 
condition.    I have  received  a few excellent replys from several helpful fellows 
but none had  a used one for sale.    I might have to send mine out to 
someone  in hopes someone can build one up.   in the meantime, Is there  someone  
with a good used one from a parted out Valiant  for sale.
