If memory serves me correctly, Jack also made some fine telescopes and had a
very nice collection of astronomical photos that he personally took! What
shame!!!!!

Subject: [AMRadio] K9ACT fire

Heard last night and confirmed this morning that Jack K9ACT had a fire
recently at his QTH. Jack and XYL Marylin and the house were all spared
along with their livestock (sheep and chickens) but everything
else lost. If you ever had the pleasure of visiting Jack's QTH you
will remember his very nicely equipped shop with at least one lathe and
other metal work tools, his shack with homebrew 2 x 8000 rig and other gear
and tools, plus Jack and XYL were into beer making, cheese making, and spun
and wove their own clothes with a wool loom from the wool sheared from their
sheep. All that plus barn and greenhouse are gone.

Jack reported on the Noon Time Forum reflector that he will be QRT for a
time. Says that now he knows how TimTron felt after his fire. I hope we
can all provide Jack with any assistance he might need, once he is ready to
start anew.
