A couple of weeks ago I went to HRO in Delaware...........The staff were friendly, but the store was half empty
and no resistors, capacitors or anything that wasn't Japanese and overly "sanitized" for the point-and-click mentality.
Sad. I think it brings ham radio down to the ranks of CB :(
Not wishing to end on such news, I had the pleasure of attending the Baltimore Radio Amateur Television
Society hamfest yesterday, and met some wonderful and knowledgeable people there - and was encouraged by
seeing a lot of teenagers asking questions to the tailgaters and vendors. And I was able to rummage till my heart was
content, and left with a Heathkit HW100 with crystal SSB and CW filter, and matching supply. Still, there was definitely
an absence of surplus vendors, and the closest I found was a box labeled "ARC-5 Parts" that was just tubes.
