Good Evening,

I have a Hallicrafter SX42 and SX99 that have been damaged
by steam and water back in January of 2010. Both of the units are
non-functional at this time. The reason for the length of time is that we
had major settlement issues with the insurance company on the initial loss
estimates for the structure damage. We had to deal with the structure damage
before dealing with the contents loss.

The cabinets are now in bad shape and I am afraid that the units are a total
loss. So, what I have to do to settle my content lose is provide them
replacement estimates for each of these radios from reputable antique radio
dealers/restorers. The radios were not museum pieces, but they were not in
bad shape prior to the water damage. I am looking to find someone who can
provide me an estimate for the replacement cost of both of these units and
then once the insurance company settles with me someone who can perform the
restoration work on restoration candidates that purchase in the open market.
I am not expecting to be able to find either of these radios in a like type
of usable condition on the open market right now and really need some help
with dealing with this issue. I am open to purchasing replacements that are
in good condition and have been recapped and restored.

                Can you help? Please advise.

Thanks,

Douglas Kearney N5LBJ
