Subject: GB> Leo Meyerson, W0GFQ, Biography Published

WRL founder Leo I. Meyerson, W0GFQ, told me a week ago his daughter had
written a biography of the "Smiling Irishman" printed in small quantity for
January 2002 release. The biography was his daughter's birthday present to
her dad on his 90th birthday this past spring. In subsequent e-mails I had
told Leo I wanted an autographed copy myself and I suspected others would,
too.

Today I received the following e-mail from Mr. WRL a/k/a Globe.

"Bill, I cant believe that there will be a big demand for my Biography so
that is the reason a limited number is being printed. I reason that many of
my friends and customers are gone and it has been many years since I was in
business. It looks that a 14.95 price is being set so those that want the
book should send a check to Leo I. Meyerson at: 1210 No. 97th Court; Omaha,
NE 68114-2171 so that I can autograph for those that desire. I can't
believe to tell you how flattered I am that some of your buddies are
interested it. Makes this 90 year fellow feel that he has done something in
his life to have such interest. Hi.

Happy Holiday greetings to all. Leo, WOGFQ"

Well, I suspect ole Leo going to be surprised. He will find out there are
ole fellows using his gear and those who weren't even born when he was last
in business. I think I am correct in saying Leo is the last living of the
'hey day' tube era manufacturers.

I have a special fondness for Leo; he was the first person to ever give me
an open credit account so I could buy one of his Globe Scout transmitters
waaaaaaaaay back when. And by the way, Leo says he sold over 59,000 of the
various Globe Scout models!
