HALLIGAN'S HALLICRAFTERS HALLOWEEN KID'S DAY

                 ** WEEKEND SPECIAL EVENT **

Halligan's Hallicrafters special event station W9WZE will
host a weekend of fun for children on Saturday October 28th
and Sunday 29th. All children age seventeen and under are
invited to check into the special event net and become
eligible for a beautiful 8x10 full color personalized
certificate. The theme is Halloween, of course! Who better to
host it than internationally renown professional
Magician/Illusionist Duane Fischer W8DBF of Flint, MI.

The purpose is to get youngsters excited about Amateur Radio.
The hope is to interest them enough to motivate them to get a
license and join with us. Invite all the youngsters you can
crowd into the old Ham Shack! Encourage your Amateur Radio
friends to participate also. They do NOT have to use or even
own a Hallicrafters! Our future depends on the seeds we plant
today. If we never plant the garden, there will be no harvest
of future Hams.

The Saturday October 28th schedule is:
1:00-3:00 PM EDT, (1700-1900 UTC), on 7.280 Mhz lsb.
3:15-5:00 PM EDT, (1915-2100 UTC), on 14.293 Mhz usb.

The Sunday October 29th schedule is:
1:00-3:00 PM EDT, (1700-1900 UTC), on 14.293 Mhz usb.
3:15-5:00 PM EDT, (1915-2100 UTC), on 7.280 Mhz lsb.

All participants who wish to receive the personalized
W9WZE Halloween certificate, should mail two dollars ($2) in
U.S. funds, printed return address label and a $.33 stamp
(NO SASE or envelopes, please!), to -

W9WZE Happy Halli-Ween Event
C/O Duane Fischer W8DBF
5028 Merit Drive
Flint, MI 48506-2127

Each certificate will show the date, frequency, time in UTC
and the child's first and last name. It will be mailed in a
special envelope to hopefully avoid folding and creasing by
the postal system.

If you love Amateur Radio, as I do, then get off your tomb
stone and give those old skeletal bones a shake. You don't
have to wake up the dearly departed, but your children would
be helpful! Put down your pitchfork, wipe the Pumpkin pie off
your fangs and herd those little ghosts, goblins and ghouls
into that room where the radio goes glow in the dark.

Park your broom stick, get off your drum stick and warm up
that yonder vertical stick. You know what they say, "a pint
of blood feeds one heck of a lot of Mosquitos!". Huh? So
serve up the Ghost Toasties with Evaporated Milk with some
Ginger bread topped by Bat Wing jelly. Have your kids, or the
neighbors kids, or your sisters kids, or the kids on the next
streets kids check in! Remember, no black Cats in the
microwave! Makes an awful mess! We will haunt the frequencies
and listen with all three of our ears for distant moans ...

Have a Happy and safe Halli-Ween from W9WZE and all the
Hallicrafters that still light up the night with the eerie
unearthly glow of Halloweens past.

Have seen nice examples of these radios going in the $100 to $150 class.
This assumes complete, working, and nice cosmetics.

Pocket Loops were originally designed for a Sony 2010.

It is a great accessory; I wouldn't have my 2010 without it.
