Special Event Station W9WZE
Callsign Trustee: Duane Fischer W8DBF

Official Radio Station of Halligan's Hallicrafters International

1 Jan 2000, "Y2K Hey! Day": Okay, we had nothing better to do to commemorate the new millenium! We talked mostly about how great it was that the lights were still on, patted ourselves on the back for not investing in bomb shelters and expensive generators, and how we were generally pleased that World War III hadn't begun. This was not a W9WZE event (we didn't have the callsign yet), but was the prototype event for the Special Event Station.

28-29 October 2000, "Halli-ween Kids Day": The theme this time was Halloween and the objective was to get kids on the air. Conditions were frightening--propagation was poor and there was an interfering contest to boot. But there were a few checkins earning a nice certificate.
